Every repair is different. Feasibility for repair depends in part on the original construction method.
The repair process is very similar to the construction process only there is twice as much work involved. In an easiest case a small area of the artwork must first be disassembled carefully, cleaned, replacement pieces made, and then reassembled to its original state. This is all very time consuming.
Depending on the extent of the repairs needed it can often be less expensive to create a completely new glasswork. But there are many situations when repairs are the best solution.

Common examples for repair are:
Preservation - A 100 year old window from a set of similar windows has been damaged. Colors are available to easily match the damaged portion while retaining the original glass for most of the piece.
Workmanship - Breakage caused by poor quality construction on those unbelievable deals The glass can be saved and rebuilt.
TSentimental Value - There is a personal connection to the original piece warranting restoration using as much of the original glass or ornate caming as possible.
